Y’all… I love a good mocha frappe! I will never forget my first experience in a Starbucks restaurant. I was with my cousin, my aunt, and my step-mother, and I had no freakin’ idea what any of that stuff on the menu was! But I look up to all these ladies and didn’t want to embarrass myself, so I did what any idiot in my situation would do… I made jokes. What is a macchiato anyway? I called it the machete drink and decided I didn’t want that. I finally settled with a Mocha Frappuccino and fell in love. Until then, coffee wasn’t my thing… But all that cold, chocolatey sweetness was just perfect!
Fast forward to several years later… I eat a Paleo diet, and I avoid sugar and dairy at all cost. Which means no more Mocha Frappuccino. But who said Paleo has to be boring and tasteless? I love my meat and veggies, but sometimes a girl needs some sweetness in her life! So I’ve done some experimenting and have found an excellent alternative to the mocha frappe!
So today, I give you the Paleo Mocha Frappe! You’re going to love it!
You will need:
1/2 cup of brewed coffee (You can find my favorite here.)
1/2 cup of almond milk (Unsweetened)
2 cups of ice
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp coconut sugar (or your favorite sweetener)
1 tbsp cocoa powder
Blend all ingredients in blender until pureed and serve!
