I finally got angry one day, and very loudly informed them that I was, in fact, NOT born in a “PUNKIN PATCH!!” Until that day, they did not realize just how much the name bothered me. As an adult, I look back on my childhood and remember some of the happiest days of my life. They didn’t know how badly the name bothered me, but now I see that I didn’t realize just how much it meant to them. I was their sweet little Punkin, and they loved me more than I could have possibly known. I want my parents to know how much they mean to me, so I titled this blog to honor them. And to let them know I think that Punkin is the sweetest nickname in the world! Even if I didn’t think so when I was 10. 😉

These days I am a homeschooling mom to two teenage boys. They seem to grow a foot every month, and looking UP at my children seems a little strange. I know, I know… I can hear some of you more seasoned moms telling me to just wait ’til they move away to college, or just wait until they are married, or just wait until you are looking UP at your grandchildren! These are all things that I eagerly look forward to, but for now, I will enjoy the moments I am given. I love my two guys to the moon and back, and wouldn’t trade them for the world!!

So what do I love? So many things… I love the fall and leaves crunching under my feet. I love to go to the mountains and enjoy the beautiful scenery. I love people, especially my family and friends. I love waking up early on a Saturday and heading out in search of yard sales! I love Netflix and candy and popcorn! I love my church and the people I worship with. I love my country, where I am free to enjoy all of the things that I love! I love so many things I could never list them all here!

I am so glad you stopped by, and I hope that you will stay a while. I would love to get to know you, so please feel free to send me a message, and we can chat. My prayer is that, while you are here, you will learn something new and you will feel encouraged. Blessings to you, and I hope you enjoy your visit at Simply Punkin!
