Hello, friend! I’m so glad you’re here! I have prayed for you, and my heart’s desire is that your visit will take you a little step closer to finding the peace of God. But mostly, I pray that you will come to know and fully experience the goodness of His grace. No matter your story, you are loved. The Lord longs to wrap His arms around you and give you the peace and comfort that you have longed for.

If you’re looking for encouragement, you’ve come to the right place! At Simply Punkin, you will find encouragement for your journey, peace for your troubled soul, and hopefully you will walk away knowing and feeling the love that only the Father can give.

So, why the name Punkin? When I was a child, my parents always called me Punkin. I hated it so, so, so much! I finally got angry one day, and very loudly informed them that I was, in fact, NOT born in a “PUNKIN PATCH!!” Until that day, they did not realize just how much the name bothered me. As an adult, I look back on my childhood and remember some of the happiest days of my life. They didn’t know how badly the name bothered me, but now I see that I didn’t realize just how much it meant to them. I was their sweet little Punkin, and they loved me more than I could have possibly known. I want my parents to know how much they mean to me, so I titled this blog to honor them. And to let them know I think that Punkin is the sweetest nickname in the world! Even if I didn’t think so when I was 10. 😉

My Life Now… These days I am a homeschooling mom to two teenage boys. They seem to grow a foot every month, and looking UP at my children seems a little strange. I know, I know… I can hear some of you more seasoned moms telling me to just wait ’til they move away to college, or just wait ’til they are married, or just wait ’til you are looking UP at your grandchildren! These are all things that I eagerly look forward to, but for now, I will enjoy the moments I am given. I love my two guys to the moon and back, and wouldn’t trade them for the world!!

I have been married to my love for 19 years, and while it’s been a hard road, I wouldn’t change it for anything. Our marriage has been through fire and trials that neither of us could have ever expected, and I know the Lord has placed us together for a reason. I love my husband now more than ever, and I am so thankful for all that he does for me and our boys. I look forward to all that God has in store for our future together.

So what do I love? So many things… I love the fall and leaves crunching under my feet. I love to go to the mountains and enjoy the beautiful scenery. I love people, especially my family and friends. I love waking up early on a Saturday and heading out in search of yard sales! I love Netflix and candy and popcorn! I love my church and the people I worship with. I love my country, where I am free to enjoy all of the things that I love! I love so many things, I could never list them all here!

I’m so glad you stopped by, and I hope you’ll stay a while. I would love to get to know you, so please feel free to send me a message, and we can chat. My prayer is that, while you’re here, you will experience the love of Jesus and feel encouraged in your walk with Him. Blessings to you, and I hope you enjoy your visit at Simply Punkin!
