I love fall… It really is my favorite season. There is nothing better than the feel of cool, crisp air along with the leaves crunching beneath my feet. The dreadfully hot days of summer have ended, and I can finally open my windows for some fresh air. A bowl of hot soup, a blanket, and a cup of hot tea on a cool fall evening are some of my favorite things! Many people are big time coffee drinkers, but not me. I am a tea girl at heart! Before I began eating a Paleo diet, I used to love a glass of sweet iced tea! But now that sugar is no longer in my diet, I have found that I enjoy trying different kinds of tea.

Six Kinds of Tea You're Sure to Love

Green Tea – The health benefits of green tea are astounding, making it a top choice for tea drinkers. Green tea is loaded with nutrients that aid in burning fat, improving brain function, and improving overall health. Many people claim that green tea has a bitter taste, but it can taste sweeter if brewed in cooler water.

Black TeaBlack Tea has many of the same health benefits as green tea. They are, however prepared differently, so the taste of black tea is somewhat sweeter and richer than that of green tea.

Earl Grey – A favorite of many tea drinkers, earl grey is usually a black tea with added bergamot orange oil for flavor. Earl Grey has many health benefits. It aids in digestion, heart health, and can help improve depression and anxiety. Earl grey tea has somewhat of a citrusy flavor, due to the oil from the bergamot, a citrus fruit.

ChaiChai Tea is my most favorite tea, and I have enjoyed trying it in different flavors and varieties. Chai is actually a black tea with added spices such as cinnamon, cloves, ginger, cardamom, and peppercorn. Traditionally, chai is prepared with heavy cream and a sweetener, but I love it just as well either alone, or with a little coconut sugar. I have enjoyed the Twinings Chai Spice tea, but it also comes in other flavors such as ultra spice, French vanilla, and spiced apple. Another favorite is Zhena’s Gypsy Chai Teas which also comes in flavors such as coconut and chocolate. If you like Chai, I encourage you to try them all and find your favorite. Personally, I can’t pick one, as I love every one!

ChamomileChamomile is an herbal tea with a slight apple-like flavor. It is the best tea to have after a long day of work, as it aids in soothing tired, sore muscles. Chamomile tea can also help you relax and get a good, restful night’s sleep.

Fruity Tea – Any tea with a sweet taste is always a winner for me, so I like fruity teas. One of my favorites is the Celestial Seasonings Herbal Fruit Tea Sampler because I can make a choice depending on my mood. It comes with Raspberry Zinger, Country Peach Passion, Wildberry Zinger, True Blueberry, and Black Cherry Berry flavors.

K-Cups – If you want to save the hassle of boiling water and waiting for your tea to steep, you can get most teas in K-Cups for your Keurig!

If you’re new to the world of tea, I recommend that you try a sampling of many flavors. You can try drinking them hot or cold. And you may find that some taste better cold, while others are much more palatable when served hot. Many people enjoy adding milk or sweeteners to their tea, while others enjoy it plain. I love to enjoy my tea with honey, agave, or coconut sugar. No matter your preference, tea is a wonderful addition to any diet. If you try a tea that you don’t especially like, keep trying them, as you are sure to find one you love.
