As Christians, it is so important to know the word of God. How many times have you found yourself in a situation where you really wished you could remember where a verse is or what it says? Being unprepared can be embarrassing. But I believe that it is also pleasing to God when we fill our hearts and minds with His Word. In Psalm 119:105, we learn that God’s word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. What other way to know His way than to learn His Word? The Bible is our greatest tool in our Christian walk, and memorizing scripture helps us in so many areas of our lives.

One of my resolutions for this year is to make Bible memorization a priority in my life, and I would like to invite you to join me. Each week, I will post a new passage along with a free printable scripture memory card. You can print as many copies of the card as you would like for posting all around your home or office. The bathroom mirror, the refrigerator, and the wall above your desk are all popular places to keep the scripture cards to help you memorize them. You could even keep one with you in your purse to access and practice during down time when you are away from your home or office. Even the busiest of people can take small snippets of time to learn scripture. So join me… Let’s make learning the Bible a priority together, and see how it can change our lives!

This week, we will learn Psalm 119:9-11. I think it’s a great place to start this journey. Memorizing God’s word and placing it deep in our hearts is one way to keep ourselves pure. When we seek to please God, we must know his heart. And to know His heart, we must know his word.
